EXCLUSIVE: Peter Bogdanovich, who died on January 6 at the age of 82, had one last creative project that just came out. Weeks before his death, the disruptive filmmaker made LIT 2 project: Flow, which stars Kim Basinger in the first NFT collaboration between a legendary director and an Oscar-winning actress created specifically for and available only on the Ethereum blockchain.
The release of the project is scheduled for January 25 on this platform. Bodganovich worked with LIT, a project on the Ethereum blockchain dedicated to pushing the boundaries of NFTs.
The late Bogdanovich’s manager, Oren Segal, explained that the filmmaker had become very excited about the possibilities of NFT as a new medium. He brought Basinger to Segal’s office three weeks ago, where he led Basinger through a number of emotions. Its emotional expressions vary over time with a token’s movement in the market, commenting on how we let fluctuating external events create our internal reality, Segal said.

“Peter did a series of clips with Kim playing out all of these emotions, with Peter narrating the clips with his voice,” he said. “They had long conversations about it. It’s a new medium, and Peter really had to get into it, and now it’s part of his legacy.
While most NFTs thus far have featured artists making digital motion pictures, Bogdanovich and Basinger wanted to do something a little different.
Basinger said, “After telling a friend the other day that I had just worked with Peter Bogdanovich, he said, ‘Wow! You were literally in his last photo show! I thought about it and realized what an honor to be the last artist he ever managed. Although we had just met, and it was only for a small project on a Sunday afternoon in December, I am truly grateful to have been able to meet and work with him. I only wish we could make a real movie together…..Such a handsome man.
